Resume Tips for Freshers: Show Evidence, Not Keywords
A fresher resume does not need fake experience. It needs clear evidence that you can apply the skills the job asks for.
Build every important skill around evidence
If a job asks for Python, SQL and AWS, simply listing those words is weaker than showing where you used them. A project bullet can explain the task, your action, the technology and the result.
Weak
Python, SQL, AWS
A keyword list gives no context about what you built or how deeply you used the tools.
Stronger
Project evidence
Built a Python data pipeline that cleaned CSV records, loaded them into SQL and deployed scheduled processing on AWS.
Five sections worth prioritising
- Headline / summary.
Keep it short and aligned with the type of role you want. - Skills.
Group genuine skills clearly; do not add technologies only because they appear in the job description. - Projects.
Explain what you built, your contribution and a measurable or observable result. - Internships / work.
Use action-oriented bullets and distinguish personal work from team outcomes. - Education and certifications.
Keep dates and qualifications easy to scan.
How to use a JD-match score
Use it as a checklist, not a target to game. If a missing skill is something you genuinely know but failed to mention, add evidence. If you do not know it, learn it or leave it out rather than inventing experience.
Good resume editing reduces ambiguity. It should help a recruiter understand what you have actually done, not merely increase keyword density.
